    Code help please 2000 dhs

Hi I m new here , I have a 2000 DHS with 85k miles & it is throwing the following code

    ipm b0429

    pdm b1586
    irc u1016
    pdm b1327
    ipm b1004

This car is new to me & its stalled twice for no reason, started right back up, it does have a slight rough idle at times, but the ambienttemp has been swinging wildly 20 to 65 in the same day lately?
I have read about the crank sensors , the car still has warrenty so I will check on that.

    Love my DHS,
    Prior cads : 78 Eldo , 76 fleetwood br.

Thanks for the help , great board.

Replace the crank sensors. The 2000 model sensors could fail randomly and sporadically and NOT necessarily set a code. Replace them with the superceded parts. Both of them.

The sensors on my DTS were both replaced at around 3,000 miles under warranty. Once they are replaced, is the problem pretty much over for how long? Or is it a repetitive repair?

There were defective ones made in 2000. Once they are changed and upgraded to the newer ones, they should be fine. I have had no problems with the new ones on my 2000 STS, and they were changed 20k miles ago.

If they were replaced they should be good to go. Early on, as the defective sensors were being recognized and corrected, the service parts provided to the field were screened carefully to ensure that a car that had problems with the crank sensors would not have the same problem twice. The issue was the quality of the sensor manufacturing process by the supplier not the design per se. The design of the sensor has remained the same as the parts were upgraded and superceded in service. Just the manufacturing process was "changed" to make it more robust.
