    1998 Fleetwood Limited suspension

Im a newb to the site so I have tried to study up before posting. I have recently been dong research on my suspension and gathered basically this. I have heavy duty suspension that is labeled as FE7. It was used as limo suspension? My question is...Is there any way I can convert my heavy duty suspension to regular suspension? If so what would I have to change out. Any help is appreciated, Thanks

I'm not sure how to change it, but the 99 Fleetwood Limiteds had the stock suspension, so I'd think it would be possible.

you need to do some homework -
but it MIGHT as simple as replacing the springs and shocks -

does it really ride that hard with the FE7 suspension?

Those "Fleetwoods" are just modified Devilles, so yes, you could install FE1 Deville suspension components. It's a lot of parts, and a lot of work.

Are you positive you have FE7? Do you have 5 or 6 lug hubs/rims?

Also different sway bars/bushings/links, and I believe control arms.

    Re: 1998 Fleetwood Limited suspension

Ok cool thanks. I have 6 lug wheels on my car. I cannot find any wheels with this bolt pattern. I am told the srx has this same BP. Its 6x120 I beleive. Yes my car rides like a lifted truck. I pray not to hit pot holes. Its a decent ride until I hit a bump or pot hole, then it feels like the whole car is going to fall apart. Aside from the crappy ride I would just like to be able to replace the corroded wheels. Could anyone find or lead me to a suspension diagram to show what would need changed out? That would be a major help.. Thanks guys

And yeah Im pretty sure I have the FE7. It states Heavy Duty Chasis on my title. And the BP isnt the normal Deville pattern. I read on here that 98 Fleetwood limiteds came with HD suspension. Im about 99 percent sure it is

If you have 6 lugs, it's FE3. You can find your RPO code list adhered to the underside of your spare tire cover.
