    OLM self reset

Y oil life monitor keeps resetting. When I got the car it worked fine. I had the first oil change done at the dealer and now it keeps resetting. I have never noticed when it does because I don't watch it but today I did the TPMS relearn and then after that it reset.

    Re: OLM self reset

Which OLM - engine oil or transmission fluid ? Have you disconnected the battery (although that should not cause resets) ? Curious - engine OLM should follow your driving pattern while transmission OLM should remain at 100 or 99 % forever (unless you overheat the fluid).

Is there any further info in the Personalization section of the owner's manual - or in the oil maintenance section ?

The engine oil is the one that keeps resetting the trans stays at 99. I haven't found anything in the manual for it and there can't be any way for the oil to go from 99 to 100. I'm not sure how many times it has reset but it stayed at 99 for a long time until today when I did the TPMS learn. I have not disconnected the battery and it is a good battery.

    Re: OLM self reset

If you call up the engine (or transmission) OLM and hold the INFO RESET button for 6 - 8 seconds it will go to 100%.

The kicker is that your OLM seems to be resetting itself to 100% at random times/occurrences.

Have you seen any weird data codes or voltage hiccups in your car's built-in code scanner system ?

    Re: OLM self reset

I was going to suggest checking for codes -
I would sort of expect several "U" codes with those symptoms -

if there are any codes - post them here -
    ALONG WITH THEIR DEFINITIONS -

the other thing you can try is to remove BOTH of the battery cables -
and hold them together for at least 30 seconds -

what this accomplishes is - sometimes the memory
in various modules gets messed up -
and this procedure clears - or resets the memory -

it MAY work - maybe not - but it won't hurt anything -

I have also had a problem with the radio since I bought the car where it won’t show the call letters but yesterday I FF a tape and when doing that it switch to the radio temporarily as it should but while doing this the call letters suddenly worked. I stopped the tape when to radio and nothing. Would touching terminals together fix this? I have made a thread about this in the audio but no luck.

I doubt that touching the battery terminals together will help the radio, but like Bass said, can't hurt to try.
