    91 Cadillac Sixty Special

So I've had my Sixty sitting for a while and when I went to start it, it ran fine. But when I tried to shift it into gear the lever would not move... I disconnected the linkage at the transmission and can move the shifer at the tranny by hand but still can't move the lever in the car. Can someone tell me whats going on here. There's no issue turning the key in the ignition and it shifted fine the last time I started it 5 months ago. I'm at my wits end.

Isn't there a shift interlock solenoid that requires you to have your foot on the brake to unlock the shifter? Maybe a bad switch, fuse or connection.

It sounds like the solenoid on the column. You might not be getting power to it when you step on the brake pedal. Check out this diagram to see the flow chart. Check fuse, power through PRNDL in Park, Brake applied, power to interlock solenoid.
