    stalling

Ok fellas....just replaced fuel tank, pump, strainer, and filter.....baffle had broken loose. I can now kick down to passing gear with out it choking out as it used to but now I have erratic idle and it stalls every time I stop for a light....Help please....
my best guess is (and forgive my lack of correctly articulating parts with exact terminology) throttle body position sensor or
idle speed control...don't know if the following info is at all useful but I recently had a complete upper and lower rebuild done.......due to some clacking in the upper end and what was diagnosed as a mild lower bearing knock....its a 1992 deville...and
Yeah some people told me they thought the rebuild was premature but I don't believe in the word mild when it comes to a
lower bearing knock especially when it involves my freaking caddy motor...anyway any help would be greatly appreciated

Not a lot of help here, but you'll probably get more responses if you put the year model and engine in the title. Do you have a dealer service manual? The diagnostic procedures are usually very thorough and they can be had cheap on ebay.

Check for a vacuum leak. that will cause an idle issue.

    Re: stalling

Some of the more pricey I've seen. You can get them new at Helminc.com also. Indispensable for this sort of thing.

You didn't mention if your check engine light is on. I suspect the sensors you mentioned should have tripped a code.

    Re: stalling

You can run an unlit propane torch with the valve cracked open over the suspected hoses while your engine idles. If you pass it over a hose and it idles up and take the torch away and it idles down. Also, try asking in the FWD Deville section. They will have more knowledge with your car. As this is the RWD section.

    Mine did that.

Had the smallest of leaks at the back base of the carb at the intake.

Took 3 sprays before it did it.

Check out all the ISC threads here and verify that yours is working correctly. Make sure the EGR tubes under the throttle body are clean too. Maybe the codes will point you in the right direction too.

Like Basscatt said try and see if you can pull any codes and post them with their meanings.
