    Re: Cadillac Deville interior lights

the cruise control switch is on the steering wheel -
the light bulbs are not replaceable -
    to replace the switch -
    you remove the airbag -
remove and replace the switch -
    reinstall the airbag -

there are 2 switch clusters on the dashboard -
one on each side of the steering wheel -

the LEFT switch has ENG/MET - DSPL MODE - RESET TRIP A/B buttons -
the RIGHT switch has INFO - INFO RESET- ON/OFF buttons -

each switch cluster has 3 light bulbs -
Cadillac does NOT have a part number -
and will only sell you the entire switch -

I have found a proper replacement light bulb -

there is a small blue rubber cover over the bulb
that you will need to remove from the old one
and put on the new bulb -
if you don't use the blue cover - the light will appear yellow -

    now the fun part -
    to replace the bulbs -
you must remove the padded dash board -
then remove the bezel from around the instrument cluster -
    then remove the switch -
    swap the bulbs -
    put everything back together -

the most difficult part will be removing the 4 AC vents from the dash -
you MUST do this to find and remove the 4 screws behind the vents -
to remove the dash pad -

oh - forgot to mention - each of the bulbs runs around $3.50 -

It would be of a great help to those trying to help you if you would update your profile to show your year and model.

It would be of a great help to you to have a FSM before you start this so you do not damage things as you attempt to remove them.

I replaced all of my steering wheel switch lights. No need to remove the air bag just pop out the switch assemblies then remove the switch from the back. The bulbs on those switches are not meant to be replaced so you will have to do some soldering. You can find the bulbs on eBay just search for "grain of wheat bulbs".
My info bulbs were the same way. Those bulbs that Bass posted only work in the climate control.

Can't help because you never updated your profile to show your year and model.

Try www.rockauto.com. If they don't have it, locate it at http://parts.nalleygmc.com/default.aspx. Get the part number and then search Amazon using the part number.
