    Sirius XM?

Is there a stock radio with Sirius XM that fits an 03 deville prperly? ie an original bose, or aftermarket model that will fit and look proper?
(My wife has it in her new Ford Flex and I am hooked)

    Thanks

    Re: Sirius XM?

yes - my '02 DHS has the BOSE radio with XM satellite -
it looks exactly like the regular radios -

    the RPO code was:
    U2K -
DIGITAL AUDIO SYSTEM S-BAND DIGITAL S-BAND AUDIO SYS -
it was a somewhat rare option - only 709 '02 DHS models had it -

the cars with it are fairly easy so spot -
they have an extra shark-fin antenna on the roof -

if you could find one - it would mount right up -
you would also have to install the satellite antenna -
then the dealer would have to program it to your VIN -

    Re: Sirius XM?

I got a Base Deville with the standard radio, it too has the stat radio, and I just got a 3 month trial on it.

Works well until you go under a bridge or near tall buildings and then the signal is lost.

I'm not sure if it's worth the $15.00 monthly fee, but I'll know more once the 3 month trial ends.

Maybe I just need to activate it?

look at the Regular Production Orde label on the underside of your spare tire cover -
it lists all the options your car was built with when it left the factory -

look for the code U2K - that is the RPO code for the BOSE satellite radio -
if you find a UM5 RPO code - that is the regular BOSE NON sat radio -

go here for a FREE owners manual for your '03 Deville -

Confirmed, mine is non-satellite, thanks Basscat. I'll check out ebay for a sat version I guess.

you need to understand a couple things before spending
much time searching for a BOSE stock sat radio -

they were NOT very common -
it needs to be from a 2002 or newer - I think that's they changed it -
the older radios use a different data bus - and simply won't work -

if you do find the correct one -
you also need the special SAT radio antenna -

the SAT radio antenna needs to be installed on the roof -
and the antenna cable wired under the headliner - and down to the radio -

after all that is done - you must go to the dealer -
to have the radio unlocked and "blessed" with your VIN number
I have heard of dealers charging anywhere from $50 to $125 -
    to unlock the radio -

if you get it all done and working - it will look stock -
but that is a mighty big expense to go through -

I would look into some other options if you are that
    sold on sat radio -

I tried it occasionally during the initial free 6 mos period -
never even considered paying for it -
but I also have the 6 disc CD changer - that was enough -

    Re: Sirius XM?

thanks basscat, definitely things to consider.
if I do go for it, definitely would want stock. Not big on after-market add-ons cluttering up the interior.

Also noticed, when i pulled the spare tire cover, the trunk was wet underneath. Had that problem in my 98 Seville, a new trunk seal corrected it. Dried it out, will see if it recurs often enough to bother mitigating.

Thanks again everyone for all the info.

Or you can install an aftermarket one like I did. DVD, CD, NAV, AM/FM, XM, etc
