2001 cadillac convertible

So my son wants his 2001 cadillac dts to be turned into a convertible after seeing and driving a convertible 2005 deville today so i was wondering how much would it cost,where can i get it done, how long would it take?

it would cost several times more than the car is worth -

why not just sell the 2001 and buy the 2005 he drove?

A good paint job goes for 6-7K. I'd imagine a conversion like that would be 18-20K MINIMUM.

Cause the 2005 wasnt for sale its one of my friends cars and hes in love with it haha

Just looked through my collection of old brochures and automotive magazines. Found an issue of duPont Registry from March '05. There's a Coach Builders LTD ad for the Deville convertible ("A true full-size convertible"). Bronzemist with Vogue Stardust rims. There's also a white Eldorado Collectors Series convertible. No pricing though.

There's one for sale up in NY state for just over $30,000 at 31K miles. www.webautos.com. There's a video of it on YouTube also. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhKiB2PVmrA It's just like mine other than roof and rims.
