I am still getting private messages & e-mails asking for "what makes a Sixty Special....'special' and/or what do they have that deVilles don't, so for one final time, hopefully with the PROPER title I used this time, it can be searchable in the future.

The following items were optional at extra cost on the deVille; and were standard equipment on the Sixty Special:-

Power Trunk Lid Pull Down - Trunk Mat - Trunk Convenience Net
Driver & Passenger Illuminated Visor Vanity Mirrors and Automatic Dimming
Exterior Driver's Mirror and Interior Rear View Mirror.
Remote Fuel Door lock/Release
Digital Dash - Trumpet Horn - Illuminated Entry System
Full Length Padded Vinyl Roof - Traction Control -
Buyer's Choice of Wire Wheel Discs -OR- Cast Aluminum Lacy Wheels.

The following items were EXCLUSIVE to the Sixty Special, and were NOT AVAILABLE on the deVille:-

Electroluminescent "C" Pillar Wreath & Crest
Dual Illuminated Rear Seat Visor Vanity Mirrors (Deleted when MoonRoof was ordered)
Fender Skirts
Genuine American Walnut Wood Interior Trim
Rear Seat Individual Reading Lamps with Individual on/off Switchs
Unique Sew-Style Cloth Seats in "Esteem" Fabric
Unique Sew-Style Leather Seats (when optional leather was ordered).
Unique Sixty Special Specific Wheel Style

The Following Options were offered on the Sixty Special, BUT were NOT available on the deVille:-

Driver "Memory" Seat, with two setting positions, plus "EXIT" function.
Driver & Passenger Power Seat Recliners
ULTRA Feature Model:-
Includes the above two items, plus:-
Power Seatback Side Bolsters; Triple Element Power Lumbar Supports;
Power Thigh Supports; Power Adjustable Headrests; Heated Front
Seat Cushions & Seatbacks; Rear Seat Armrest has Dual Cupholders;
ITAL DESIGN of TURIN, ITALY Designed seats in ULTRA Soft Leather;
Double Hand Stitched "French" Seams.
(This option {ULTRA} was $3,500.00). 688 were made.

The Sixty-Special had a MSRLP that was $4,240.00 more than a Sedan deVille, however when the above items in the first group were added to the deVille, then then price difference dropped to $2,072.00 more for the Sixty Special. Their dimensions were identical, with the Sixty Special weighing 44 pounds more. They shared the same interior & exterior colors.

5,292 Sixty Specials were produced, of which 688 had the ULTRA Feature Package.

707 in Black Sapphire (Includes 198 Ultra)

445 in Dark Cherry (Includes 78 Ultra)
226 in Academy Gray (Includes 43 Ultra)
310 in Sapphire Blue Firemist (Includes 68 Ultra)
518 in Slate Green (Includes 56 Ultra)
477 in Light Beige (No Ultra)
326 in Taupe (Includes 5 Ultra)
059 in Dark Plum (Includes 4 Ultra)
206 in Slate Bronze (Includes 2 Ultra) (Only New Color for 1993)

Well if you aren't sick of these numbers yet, I'll ask. I remember last year you gave me a breakdown for my car but I lost it! From what I recall I think you said there were something like 115,000 C bodies made for 1991? 20,000 were Fleetwoods, most the others were Devilles (1 in 10 were Fleetwoods)) I can't remember about the 60 spec, and they were even more rare than the Fleet. but I THINK you said there were around 2,000 Fleets with my color? Obviously though, it would be impossible to know exactly how many were made like mine (for example) with regard to the EXACT same options. I know the dealership ordered the optional "Lace" alum. rims for mine but probably half of the others like mine had the standard 5 star spoke. Just like it would probably be impossible for us to know how many Fleetwoods my color/year had the optional Astro roof. Right?

Supercool! Thanks, and I know where one of the 140 Antelope coupes is because I talked to the lady who owns it. I didn't think it was that rare. It certainly didn't look as big as mine but I think they were a shorter wheelbase for the coupe.

I have a friend in the right place, at Cadillac. It used to be much easier to get (1985-1999) than it has been 2000-2003 ! Getting tougher.

I enjoy sharing it with those who would enjoy it. I wanted the same info from Lincoln, for my 2003 Town Car, and they'd only give me the # made of MY color, so I am not able to see where it fits in the scope of things. I begged & pleaded, but they will not. Obviously they think I am going to stand on the corner and attempt to sell the 2003 color installation listing to the shoppers entering the local paint store, or perhaps the town's shoe store! Annoying as________ !!
