    Re: Rear Suspension/Shocks 2001 Deville

After reading all of this Thread I am thoroughly lost........Can some one please tell me,

If I have the replacement shocks that are making the noise as stated by mtflight .......is there a spring kit I can buy and fix this myself? I have had the same intermittent noise after replacing my shocks and just couldn't figure out why.

    Any help is appreciated!

Only thing that worked for me was adjusting the ride height so that the compressor fills them with more air. I'm not sure the spring did much other than consume a lot more time.

Ahhh, Thank You for clearing that up!

May I ask what you found was the best way to achieve a different ride height? I did a "search" under adjusting ride height and did not come up with much on the subject.

    Thank You!

Extremely easy fix. All that it requires is removing the rear driver side wheel, and you have access to the ride height sensor. You twist the little arm off and then you lengthen it a little bit see how I did it here http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...ar-height.html

My solution involved a clip, a bolt, and a nut. I adjusted it a few times until I had it just right so that the rear shocks remained full of air on a level surface, without raising the rear end more than a half inch.

You're welcome. You should take pictures to see how you improvised it and help others too.

I will have to remember to do that. Something tells me there will be some trial and error in getting it just right though.

    Thanks Again!

What do you mean when you say (ACDeclco "additional usage" or "selldown" shocks)? Just curious. I'm struggling with the noise issue from the back end of the car. Dont know if its the shocks or control-arm bushings.

    Thanks

I'm guessing you're asking me since I'm probably the only one who uses those terms.

In short they mean the non OEM versions of acdelco parts meant to compete with the aftermarket.
