So the radio shuts off, and the clock stays on? Try lightly tugging on the volume knob, or pushing it a few times. Normally with the radio off (opened door, whatever.) you can push the top knob to display the clock regardless. BUT it should disappear after a couple seconds. maybe your button is just stuck?

Re: 1993 Deville Clock Stays On

I have had that 2 times. Both times it resulted in a nice very dead battery, as it was in the garage (wintertime) and I did not discover it for days....maybe a week. 2 times in 12 years. I think it has something to do with a wire in the door. When you open the door to exit, I think it's suppossed to go out...Yes ??

Re: 1993 Deville Clock Stays On

I checked all the doors, but again the radio shuts off the clock just stays on. I am aware that when the car is off u can press dial in for the time to illuminate. I am going to pull the radio out and see if it receving constant power or maybe the button is stuck. I get nervous because eventually it will drain the battery if it left for 2 days...

If anyone else has ideas please let me know.

    I checked mine.
engine running, stereo on, clock is accessable, by pushing volume knob.
shut radio, engine running, clock is showing
shut engine off, clock stay illuminated for 10 minutes then goes off
shut engine off, clock stays illuminated for 10 minutes,
UNLESS I open door to exit. When I open door to exit....clock goes off.

Re: 1993 Deville Clock Stays On

I pulled the radio out and took my voltmeter to see what the story was. The memory wire is suppose to get constant power which it does. The power wire that is on switched ignition is working correctly.

So to some this all up, the radio has a problem with it, I may look on ebay or put a aftermarket deck in and eliminate my battery drain. Thanks for your help
