Last night while I was driving home, the car started to slip out of gear. Nothing like this had ever happened before. Never had engine troubles of any sort. At 3 different times, something happened where if I pressed on the gas at all, nothing would happen. The car would not accelerate and I had to pull off the road, shut the car off, and start it again. Then, it would run fine. When that happened for the first time, the "Service Engine Soon" warning light came on. Throughout the ride home, the light would flicker on and off, sometimes staying on for an extended period of time and sometimes staying off for an extended period of time. I decided to run a diagnostic check today and there was one code that came up...a "PCM" with a question mark after it. If anyone can tell me what that means, I would greatly appreciate it. I apologize for not being able to be more specific, but that was all that I saw when I ran the test.
What the PCM? means is it's asking you which computer module you wanted the codes read from. If you hit the up button on the either fan or temp control, it will read off the PCM codes.
Yeah I realized that basically as soon as I had posted that message. I ran the diagnostic thing and the codes that came up were PO41, PO52, and IO52. I'm already aware of what those mean and I'm having it checked out tomorrow...just kinda hoping this won't wind up costing anything too significant at this time. Thanks anyway I know I looked pretty stupid posting a message like that one before.
Experienced the same problem with my 94 DeVille - I's been parked for over a week now in fear of what the repairs might cost. What was the outcome? and how much did it cost you?
