    Re: A/C help

Air control and blend motor and actuator up in the dash in front of and beside the glove box.

Use your car's built-in code reader/memory to get any Diagnostic Trouble Codes stored. At the top of this main Deville page - the sticky thread titled "How to pull codes" - read the whole thing and practice, write down any codes noting whether each is Current or History, return to the sticky and open the link with "obd2" in the URL to click on the lines in the Master Index box for the meanings of any codes found.

You should find a code for a mode door actuator or something like that.

    Re: A/C help

Hi - I am new here and hope somebody can help me. I am having a similar problem. I have a 2003 DeVille that just started clicking for a brief time when I first start the car. The air still blows cold, but now it blows out on my feet and not through the dash. From researching this forum I am pretty confident it is the mode actuator. On another post I saw an AC Delco p/n of 1572654 listed. But on yet another post I read to get the # off the bad part once you remove it. My question is this: Would I be okay to go ahead and order the actuator assembly so I have it when my mechanic tears into the job? (I have a great mechanic that moonlights and does it out of his home shop) Or do I have to wait until he pulls it off and then order it and wait until the part arrives? Also, the p/n 1572654 is the actuator assembly. Is that what I need, or do I need just the actuator only? Sorry if this is too lengthy or confusing! Please help if you can. Thanks!
