    Thumbs down help with possiblle over heating?

    so i just bought a 1991 cadillac deville.i hear a slight knock and the car is like the little engine that could.ill get up to fifty abd after a while when i seems to get warm it jus slowly wont go.so i have to stop for a bit to cool off.or so i think..what could be my options?

    it also stalls somtimes and has a slight knocking sound

    check for codes by holding off and warmer then report back

    i went n held off n warmer n the only numbers or type of code was .7.0 were the gas mileage is.also service engine soon and service vehicile soon lights came on while holding buttoms.am i doing this right?

    ive tryed over and o9ver but no codes.only thing is .7.0 witch means codes are done being displayed.please give any advice possible.im stuck here...

    You must not have any codes then. There was a thread running just last week with these same symptoms. If you do some searching here you will find all the common maintenance that these cars need. It sounds like your fuel pump could be dying. You should check your Fuel pressure and vacuum.

    my fuel pressure while hot is 35 and when i give it some gas it drops to 30 ive heard that fuel pumps should be putting out 45 is this true and how to i check vacuum pressure?

    That fuel pressure is a little low.

    You check vacuum by pulling a vacuum supply line and plug a vacuum gauge onto it.

    Yeah, that fuel pressure is too low, time for a new fuel pump
