Hood Ornament

I am in the process of putting in a DHS grille in my car (Thanks mtflight) and need to do something about the stand up hood ornament.

I think I am correct in my thinking that removal will net a hole in the hood (if I am wrong feel free to correct me) and would like to rememdy that situation.

I am thinking of a medallion, ala the sporty Mercedes Benz models with the grill mounted ornament. On the hood where the star goes is a very nice little mercedes medallion.

Does anyone know where I can find something similar? Has anyone ever removed the hood ornament? And if so what was your solution?

I dont have my hood ornament either, someone stole mine....So i made an ornament out of a small flat piece of aluminum, which is perfect because my car is silver so it doesnt really stand out, but i have not put it on, i want to see if i can find a hood ornament for mine...But wait you have one and want to take it off.....How about we do a trade, i can make you a hood ornament out of shiny aluminum, any design,logo you want in exchange for your hood ornament...PM me or email me at, starcityinstall@yahoo.com

I like the one you pointed out submariner....its a shame its gold not silver. Will have to keep my eyes peeled for a silver/chrome one. And I am emailing you kaddidaddi. Got any pics of yours?

show me a pic of one that you like or whatever you want on the symbol and i will get started on a mock up so you can see if you like it, and i will try and find the one i already made, im actually trying to find some thick plate aluminum in large enough sizes to actually carve a new hood ornament out of, and put together like the original ornament, only with my own little twist.....

why not just get a heritage of opener ship badge and put it over the hole. Also that stinks that some one stole you hood ornament man. i got my car and it didn't have one so i spent $40 an bought a new one exactly 2 weeks after i put it on they stole it again went to the junk yard and got one for $5 looked like new and they haven't stole it yet (knock on wood).
