sometimes when i hit voice recog button it beeps and I give command and it works fine and will continue working ok the entire time i am driving car. Other times when i start car and hit button nothing happens, if i hold button iib for approx 15 sec it will say "ready" like it wants an Onstar command, itf it doesn't work properly when i start car then it will not work the entire time i am driving

Have you done the analog-to-digital OnStar upgrade ???


Hmmmmm.........the antenna coupler is on the back window. There's a spring clip BNC plug (antenna lead wire) which goes into the side of the antenna base. Carefully pull that BNC off the base and re-insert it a couple of times. My OnStar did sort of what you describe before I had the conversion done, and fooling with the antenna cable cured that problem.

This happens once or twice per year with my 02. I found if you turn off the ignition & start right back up, it works fine again.
