1997 Deville traction control problem
Hello everyone. I bought a 97 deville about 2 years ago and have had so many problems with it. I have replaced just about everything in it including:
Engine
Transmisison
Radiator
Heater core
Battery
Starter
Altenator
Egr valve
injectors
fuel rail
fuel pump
fuel pressure regulator
coil packs
ignition wires
spark plugs
water pump
water pump housing
belts
ect.
My problem now is the Traction control light is on. The abs and traction control light where on so i took it to the dealer and they said it needed a new ebtcm so i got one from the junk yard and intalled it myself. Well the lights went off temperarily. but know only the traction control light is on. It goes off from time to time but for the most part always on. Service steering system comes on occasionally as well. My currect codes are
PCM
p1571
IPC
b2711 (which is theft system problem and i guess it has to do with a wire in the steering collum)
TCS
c1236
c1277
u1016
ive checked the grounds and have wiggled the wires but cant seem to get a permenent fix. any help would be greatly appriciated

C1236 - Low System Supply Voltage
What is you battery voltage? Low voltage will wake up all the electrical gremlins to come out and play and set all sorts of false codes.

That's normal voltage.
C1277 - Requested Torque Signal Circuit Malfunction
The EBTCM and the PCM talk to each other to control the ABS. If you replaced the EBTCM (and are sure it is good) then check the connector pins. Make sure the connections are clean and tight. Check the EBTCM & PCM grounds.

I am about the same place. I was told that I probably had to flash the EBTCM. What do you think?

Sorry, I don't know anything about that.
