discontinued part

Hi. I have a 1998 Cadillac Deville and the molding that goes around the right rear window is coming loose from the body and falling apart. I went to the Cadillac dealership and they told me that part has been discontinued and really didnt give me any idea how to find it. I need to though because it looks awful. Can anyone help me out? Id appreciate any info. The GM part number for this is #3547838. It is a rubber molding with a chrome strip running down the center of it. Goes around the right rear window. Thanks

Re: discontinued part

You mean that black stuff thats right up against the paint? Mine started falling out on the passenger door a couple years ago at the corner anod nothing would hold it. I got a windshield place to glue it back on.

Re: discontinued part

I had this very same problem on my '98 and just set it back in place with a bead from a hot glue gun. I'll see if this holds but so far so good but it's only been about 1 week . . .
