I went to install it and realized that it does not connect to the 9 pin adapter in the glove box. Got back on the web and found the adapter i need. Its the USASpec CAS-GCAD7i Special Adapter Cable for Select 2001-05 Cadillac. Whch can be found here http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=853
And i got it all hooked up. Drilled a small hole in the glove box and passes the ipod connector trough there. And i can control the songs from the steering wheel. The sound quality is amazing, with the bose headunit. No need to ever upgrade stereo. | This is the type of hook up im looking for. imma search for these parts and keep my fingers crossed when installing. thanks for the heads up! |

Changer can be reinstalled easily if you sell the car. | bestbuy really? do you know the part they used and how much did they charge you? |

Following this very closely. I'm getting a Touch tonight and would love to be able to integrate it rather than just run the audio out to my cassette adapter. |

I'm getting a Touch tonight and would love to be able to integrate it rather than just run the audio out to my cassette adapter. | they sent me a AAI-GM9 which is a 9 pin connector which doesnt work with my 2002 deville cause the connector on the radio is 32 pin. so much drama! so i called the company that makes them and verified that i was sold the wrong unit and to think about going with fmm-100 which goes inline with the antenna also possibly it will need 40-gm10 and or 40-gm21 antenna adapters.
there is also another unit that might work so you can use all the controls (steering whl) its ipac-oem and ab-gm10 but they were'nt sure cause my h/u has a source button and not a actual cd and or tape button. hope this helps. |

I read about that on the site you linked to. The method you just described is sort of an fm transmitter type except it's tied directly into the antenna. That won't give you control of the Ipod from the steering wheel, will it? |

I'm thinking it can but I'm also guessing my system is a Bose with the CD changer in the glove. They swapped out the changer for an Ipod hookup. |

It is like 118 dollars. |

Onstar has been in Cadillacs since the late 90s. |

I have a 2001 DHS with Navi and do not want to lose my CD Changer.. As you know there is no tape deck in this car.. So the FM transmitter would be the only solution.
Thanks for any help.. I am also looking into adding Sirius and that will have to be done the same way. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
