Can passenger side mirror glass be detached and replaced?

I know I should be worrying more about my undriveable surge tank 1997Deville
But I may as well order more stuff to get free shipping or combined shipping
But the mirror is cracked and the pearl white housing in several pieces
I saw a mirror glass listed on Rock auto . Maybe I can Gorilla glue or duct tape or super glue the plastic housing back????

Course I really dont know how to properly use the passenger side mirror anyway esp. for backing up .

Why don't you replace the whole mirror assembly if it is already in pieces.

I've only tried replacing the whole thing.. I'm not sure if only the mirror is going to come out.

The mirror itself will just snap out and a new one goes back on the same way. Once you have the old one out you will see the small plastic pieces that connect it to the motor. It is advisable to use a block of wood about the size of the mirror glass to press it back into place and prevent cracking.
