    QuestionDTS 30K maintenance reqmt??

    HI all,
Just turned 30K mile on my 2000 DTS, th book says I need to do a 30 K Maintenance where the plenum intake is cleaned and the other usual checks...
Does anyone known if this can be done by me, or is this something the caddy dealer needs to do....

It say its to have deposits cleaned from the intake air plenum I believe...anyone care to provide some advise??? should I do it? and what does it take? like a carb cleaner or something like that?

It is quite easy to do. Do a search for throttle body and you should find plenty of info. Basically, remove the intake ducting, hold the throttle plate opened and spray the cabon deposits with carb cleaner. Scrub with a tooth brush and spary some more. You want to clean the bore of the throttle body where the throttle plate meets it. Also the back side of the throttle plate
