Forget the Haynes and Chilton's - far too generic for in-depth work. Either search eBay for a GM/Helm Factory Service Manual (2 huge volumes) or go direct to
www.helminc.com. $135 +/-.
......or, subscribe your car to
www.alldatadiy.com for the three year deal. Renewals after that are cheap. Every manual, diagram, electrical, emissions, recalls, labor times, TSB's, more than you can ever research.
You get what you pay for in parts. Reliable parts dealers are RockAuto,
www.gmotors.com (Palm Cadillac, Gainesville, FL),
www.gmpartsdirect.com (Flow Chev/Cadillac, Winston-Salem, NC), or Luke in Parts at Lindsay Cadillac (VA, near DC) weekdays >>>>>>>> over there. In most cases, unless you're
very familiar with the aftermarket parts manufacturer/importer, it's best to stick with ACDelco, DELPHI, and similar GM suppliers. EBC brake systems are highly thought of (Black Dash rotors and Redstuff pads).
Your front end shimmy on braking is either worn/warped rotors and/or pads. MAYBE out-of-round tires.
