Ignition Switch?

OK here goes. I have a 98 Deville. After sitting overnight the ignition will start immediately. After a short period following shut off, the ignition starts immediately. A few hours away from the vehicle, I stat but the car coughs for about 5 seconds, then eventually starts.

This has been going on for about a year and a half now. it always started, so I never fixed anything.

A side question: I have the "olid flasher"issue. I changed what I thought as the flasher fuse under the steering column (round, silver), but it still does the same thing. I am hearing my car has a second flasher fuse close to the same location, and also a fuse behing the back seat I should check. Please assist.

Your starting problem sounds like a leaky FPR. It's quick and easy to test. The procedure is in the Tech Tips section.

The round flasher is for the emergency flashers. The turn signal flasher is rectangular and is on the other side of the column.
