A/C Compressor Cluth Relay
I am in need of some help. I have a 2003 base model Deville. My problem is that the a/c will only blow hot air. The problem started when I went to get an inspection sticker and my horn would not blow. I replaced 15A fuse in fuse box under the hood. The horn still did not blow. So i then removed the relay for the horn, and placed the relay from the a/c compressor clutch in the slot for the horn leaving the a/c compressor clutch slot unoccupied. I cranked up the car and the horn still would not make any sound. I then placed the a/c compressor clutch relay back in it's original slot. After this the a/c no longer blows cold air. I have since swapped both relays with two new relays and the horn still will not sound and the a/c still will not cool. Pull the codes and I am getting a current code B0429 Temperature Control #3 Rear Circuit Range/Performance. Any help will gladly be appreciated, the heat is punishing.

Re: A/C Compressor Cluth Relay
Pull the relay and jumper the connections. See if that enables the compressor (or horn).

Re: A/C Compressor Cluth Relay
Pardon my ignorance. I am not sure how to jumper a relay. I think this involves taking a piece of stripped wire and placing around the pins. I don't which pin to connect to what. Can you expand please?

Re: A/C Compressor Cluth Relay
There are two spades on the bottom of the relay. Just use a piece of wire and make a U. Plug each end into the slot that accepted the relay spades. I like to use a piece of 12 GA. wire. Strip back the insulation and pound the wire flat to make a spade, but leave it thick enough to make contact.

Re: A/C Compressor Cluth Relay
Okay attempted to jump the relay and the a/c still did not cool. So I then decided to check the 15 amp fuse on the a/c compressor clutch and saw that this fuse was blown. So I changed the fuse and bam the air now cools. I then decided to check the 15 amp fuse on the horn. This fuse was also blown. This is the same fuse I replaced two days ago. So I then replaced it again and the fuse blew again. I am happy that the air is now working again but any idea why the fuse keeps blowing on the horn.

There is obviously a short somewhere. You're gonna have to trace it down.
