98 Deville 135K Oil Pressure Low - Stop Engine

I have got this message three times in the last month. It always occurs within a few minute of starting. I stop the engine, restart and all is well for days.

I changed the oil and used 5W-30. Could that be the problem?

The car is making no strange noises and it appears to me to be very much like an oil sending unit. Where is that located and how much more complicated would it be for me to change this on this year model myself than a regular oil change.

    Please advise.

Possibly. You can do a simple test by changing to the recommended 10W-30 oil.

The oil pressure sensor switch is threaded into the oil filter adapter plate. A little more time/effort involved than an oil change.

Use only OEM GM parts for this switch (aftermarket pieces are not calibrated properly).

    5W30? Not in a '98.
