DRLs on a 2003 DeVille DTS

I'm looking to put soem HID's on a Deville DTS (2003), and I understand I have to get rid of DRLs on it. I saw a procedure on the FAQ section but it was for a different model Cadillac(Pull out relay, cut off H pin). Can that same procedure be done on Devilles? or is there a different procedure on getting rid of them? Thanks!

The DRL's are actually the high beams relay-connected in series to lower the voltage = less wear on the filament. HID's are usually installed in projector lens low beams ???

For the blinglight install, remove fuse # 24 (?? check the number and ID) in the underhood box, DRL...... Be prepared to do some wiring harness upgrades, because if the car was not OEM HID, the harness wiring and fusing is (usually) not large enough to handle the HID startup amperage.

Because the HID uses a different lens, you may be in for some weird aiming problems. Someone with a 2002/3/4 DTS will know.

(Let me spend some of your money: Go on eBay and get a Helm (NOT Haynes or Chilton's) Factory Service Manual or subscribe your car for 3 years to www.alldatadiy.com )

I think you're confusing the DeVIlle with the Seville. The Deville, what i'm talking about, doesn't have any projectors. I don't think there's a fuse for DRLs on the deville.

Ok so there is a fuse for it? and the DRL's are the low beams on a deville..correct? I'm getting confused now because someone on another forum says its low beams, but someone else is suggesting its the high beams.

(i'm putting HID's on a friends car, not mine. sorry for the questions)

DRLs are different depending on year. I know for 00-01 it's the low beams. It was either 02 or 03 (I think it was 02) that it changed to the high beams. You're OK with an 03. If you're still unsure, the top light in headlight housing is for low beams. Definitely get an upgraded wiring harness so you won't run into trouble down the road.
