i changed my oil ~2000 miles ago and my oil life is at 8%. Is it really necessary to change the oil after 2000 miles? I know it depends on how u are drive etc....
Oil looks good, not really dark. So, what do u think?
(it's an 92' Sedan DeVille with 117.000miles on it)
Best Regards |

You do not have to change your oil after 2000 miles, when the oil was changed last time was the oil life indicator reset?. |

I could understand this if you drove 2 blocks in winter and shut down. 10 miles should be enough to heat it up and you should certainly get more than 2000 miles. I would suspect it was not reset. I'd reset it again and watch it to see how fast it decrements. If it seems normal, then change it at 75%. |

If you press and hold "range" and "reset" it will set back to 100%. |
