Me: '85 Fleetwood Brougham has 180k on it, 66K and 10 years on the rebuilt 4100.
My dad: '89 Sedan deVille has 281k on original (as far as anyone can tell), 4.5
'96 Eldorado has 75K (but there is some drama going on with that one)
'68 Coupe deVille has ????? (it looks like shit but it runs like hell!)
'70 Coupe deVille has ????? (it looks like shit but it runs like hell!) |

That only applies to "rode hard and put up wet"
As in horses, of course. |

I recently have had a down spell, because I screwed up when putting back together the power steering pump (actually, after replacing the air conditioner). I inadvertently left in the pump "core" that I traded in to Auto Bone-heads the seal and spacer that attaches the junction to the pump (anyone who owns a '94 Deville and has replaced the power steering pump, take note). While apparently able to keep the leak to a minimum when I first put it back together, it was obvious that the univ belt was flinging PS fluid, so I took it apart, and found my error. Unfortunately, that was last Tuesday, and she has sat ever since.
It wouldn't be so bad if the f*&^%$g dealership wouldn't take a g*d$3@#d week to get these two tiny, pitifully simple parts. Parts that they raped me for, pricewise, of course.
A whole week to get the parts...and f*&^%ng raped on the price! Damnit!
I know if it was a shop that had ordered those parts, they'd have been here in two days.

Put a water pump in about 10,000 miles ago, and brakes about 5,000. Replaced the trunk pull-down motor last week. This is the second '92 I've owned. I really like the styling of these model years. This car shouts, "Yes, in fact I DO own the road." On long trips I typically get about 22 mpg. |

As of today its about 99,750.
Just bought the whole drivetrain from a 76 Coupe for 300 bucks.
We fired up the 500 and its sounds great. Had not been run for 10+ years.
It pulled a smooth 18lbs of vacuum at low ide. I'm gonna clean it up and bolt it in the 77. Probably with nitrus. Gotta weird looking rear end with this deal. Its a 12 bolt cover with a funny looking pumpkin. The input shaft appears to be offset a few inches to the passenger side. Kind of reminds me of some type of gear reduction unit. I'm hoping its a posi or at least a limited slip type.
Does anyone know what it is, and is it a bolt in on my 77 ? It looks like it should be.
Wouldn't you know that I just put rear coils on the 77 about 2 weeks ago.
Thanks |
