Antony14 | is yours the northstar? if so you may have a carbon knock,(this usually only happens when the motors cold and idling) there are articles on here to show how to fix that, as a first step i would start running premium to see if this clears up the problem. I RUN PREMIUM IN ALL OF MY CARS! |

Still get 28 mpg on the highway and 24 mpg overall. Have had no failures. On my third set of tires and second battery. Best car I've ever owned. Oil is changed about every 4K miles. |

89 Deville 169101
67 Eldorados 40499 & 31153

Everything i've fixed has been normal wear items(tires, batteries, alternators, starters, fuel pump) All in all, great value for used cars. |

Wow! That's very re-assuring to hear. Thanks, Aaron! I'm curious- which of those Cadillacs do you consider your favorite? -Patrick |

the car sat for 4 years and then was used in a movie, and they didn't give it any love.
So far it has required all the brakes bled, new seals, the high pressure booster replaced, although the antilock system was ok.
New tyres all round, new engine mounts and it looks like the last thing will be replacement of the seals on the gearbox around the halfshafts.
Air conditioner pump was reconditioned but nothing else but a full service was needed.
I found this in a Bently I bought a while back, so the car make is not the the prob just lack of service, especially with computer controlled modern cars. |

Right now I like the 93 eldo because of the northstar motor . Once I fix the floorboards in the 61 convert I may change my mind. The 90 fleetwood did get all new brakes and brake lines when I got it but it had been sitting for 4 years in the grass so I consider replacing the lines as normal wear. Otherwise it has been an excellent winter beater, runs great and I didn't even have to put plugs and wires into it. |
