climate control not working on 92 DeVille

I just bought this car and the auto climate control was working when I test drove it. The next day I started it in the morning and the defrost vents blew cool air (compressor was running) but the climate control screen was blank and pushing the buttons had no affect. After I drove down the road awhile the climate control screen lit up and the buttons become responsive. I shut it down and restarted it and it worked right. Today I started it and drove for awhile and the same thing happened, only this time the climate control display never illuminated and the buttons never responded. Just cool air from the defrost vents again.

So whats the deal? Any ideas or suggestions?

Sounds like its time for a new HVAC unit...... You could always take it out and see if theres a loose connection.....

I never did find out what was causing mine to do that because it stopped doing it after a while, Another Cadillac unsolved eletronic mystery, but look at the bright side of it, at least your A/C is working.
