how to swapp the digital dash of a deville for the analog cluster

hello i just joined the cadillac forums. i own i 01 cadillac deville and been driving it for over a year now. i simply love my deville but ive noticed that on other versions of the deville such as (dhs, dts) have a different speedometer cluster (mines is a digital dash). so i went online shopping(ebay) and got a hold of a analog cluster\dash. the dealer is charging me 300+ dollars to install it.
has anyone dones this project before? where can i go and have it installed for cheap? or can i do this project myself? also i was told that the actual mileage of car wont show up if i switch to a different cluster and because of this i can have a salvage title to my car ????

any info would help
