secondary air injection pump noise

My secondary air injection pump is very loud for about ten seconds and then stops and the 03 Deville runs fine. Does every N* or Deville have a loud pump, or is mine about to fail?
It makes a hell of a noise!!!
If it's about to fail, is there anything I can do to save it, like clean it out or something?

Yours is failing. I think they have a new shield to keep them dry when you change it out. I cannot hear mine ..........yet.

Mine was doing the same thing, only when cold, it (along with the hose) was replaced under warranty some time ago. Talking with the service manager, it sounded to me like it could be a rather common occurrence.

Mine has been the same noise figured it was still working just a little louder, well $190 later after buying a new rear check valve which I thought was setting my AIR System DTC I found out i'll still have to buy one of the newer revised pumps...do all of the new pumps come with the new tube? Or is it separate?

When the dealer replaced mine, there was a different part number for the hose, so I assume that they don't come together.

Does anyone know what the the "official" name of the secondary air injection pump is called, and which section in buy-oem-parts.com I can find it? I'm trying to price it out before it fails so I can be ready.

Under that site its under the body section in the Emission category area first option "A.I.R. Pump", if you dont mind a lil extra wait for shipping I get my parts from gmpartsdepartment.com always a little cheaper in parts and shipping even though there based out of CA.

So from what I see in those diagrams the tube comes separately would it be number 29 in this pic?



But when I go through all data it shows this update: Note: A new Secondary AIR pump and Inlet hose assembly (kit), P/N 19515548 and when I search with p/n I get the below so am I safe to assume its all together now?
