Car pulls to the right...read inside

Hey guys, my car has always been pulling to the right, and today I went and got an alignment done, and yeah it was a bit messed up, but even after alignment was done, my car tends to pull to the right when I let my hands off the steering wheel. Even on a straight road, it will do the same. Any idea on what could be the problem? Got even thread tires, even amount of PSI.

Try swapping the front tires side to side and see if that makes any difference.

I agree. Assuming alignment done correctly, the front tires have taken a set. I take the right rear tire and put it on the right front when that occurs. I'm surprised the shop didn't do that when they road tested it after, then took your money?

They have tried that before, thats the first thing they have done like a week ago!

Maybe my left side spring tension is different from right spring...that will cause it to do that...no?

Road crown will take a vehicle to the right. Is the steering wheel centered? If alignment is to the numbers it should track straight on a dead level surface. Braking hands off will also tell the tale. K_C

I believe the steering wheel is straight. Whenever I brake without hands steering wheels turn to the right and car pulls to the right. Not cool.

How would I go about re-seating the steering wheel? Because I have to keep the steering wheel a little bit to the left for wheels to be straight. So, would the steering wheel be the problem?

Dragging RF brake caliper? Check to see if pad wear is even side-to-side.

Re: Car pulls to the right...read inside

Only way to center the steering wheel is during a front end alignment thru the tie rod adjustment I believe. It needs to be centered when positioning the car on the racks before the alignment work is done. If you've recently had the work done go back and explain the situation to the tech [which way it tracks], they understand the importance of getting it right. When you drive a straight stretch of road w/ the wheel centered the car should track straight. Braking will exaggerate the pull. K_C

Re: Car pulls to the right...read inside

Yeah, it's not the steering wheel. The off-center steering wheel is caused by whatever is making the car pull right: alignment, dragging brake pads.......When you mentioned that the car pulls right on brake application points to brake problems.

Thanks guys, I will release the caliper pistons and re-seat the pads and see if it helps.
