Before I put a supercharger on my Mustang I ran a 'cold air intake' on it and noticed absolutely NO difference whatsoever, except it looked shiny and nice. In fact, it forced me to fiddle around with the mass air meter because it throws off the computer somewhat unless you have the mass air recalibrated. I'm not sure if the same is true for the Caddy intakes people are buying, but my own personal experience with CAI's is they are nothing more than a marketing gimmick that look slick in the engine bay.
Either way good luck.

Hi, you have to install the IAT sensor in the grommet hole on the intake pipe just like the picture showed in this attached email (it showed it fit, please refer to it). We have sold more than 500++ set of this intake to Cadilac Deville owners and we have no complaint at all. It don't need any modified air sensor, all it need is just the stock sensor. If you need any help of the installation, please call us ASAP at 562-696-9488 M-F noon-5pm pacific time. Thanks for asking

1. Got car and was having fun tinkering.
2. Read on this forum how poor of an idea a CAI was (many reasons)
3. Had it in my head I was much smarter than these guys that have owned Cadillacs from much longer than me.
4. Went to ebay bought a CAI and put it on without saying a word, Ill show them I said.
5. Put it on.
6. Hummmm I dont think it has as good of power?
7. I think I lost some MPG?
8. Oh!! cool, it sounds good WOT!!!
9. Check engine light? MAF
10 MAF cleaner 2nd can.
11. Check engine again and again. Getting upset now.
11.5 bought a autoxray scanner to easily erase code. Hard headed I was.
12. Had enough, 2 months later back to OEM
13. MPG BACK UP
14. IDLE IS BETTER
15. NO CHECK ENGINE FROM TIME TO TIME.
16. On jun 15th in highland ks, there will be a deville CAI at our garage sale.
So please do stop by and buy it.

| | Cadillac Owners Member Cadillac(s): Cadillac | | | | | Re: Getting a PCM P0101 after CAI installation you know I wish everyone would stop throwing the term CAI around, Because unless you actually shielded off your intake from the rest of the engine bay its not a CAI, its simply a short ram, hot air intake, which as engine bay heat temps rise , it will suck more heat and pretty much kill the performance aspect it was made for. Of course you non-CAI believer didnt have a good experience,, hell it was never done right in the first place, Do a true CAI or do a FWI and see how you come out, The whole point in a performance intake is to drop intake temps to around ambient temps, and below.so you can have optimal timing advance, so stop knocking air intakes, there not a gimmick. |

As you all know I have the Volant set up in my DTS. It's the biggest load of crap I ever put in a car. First off it dramatically decreased low end torque. However I do think I gained some very high end HP like in the 5 - 6 k range. BTW I have the dyno sheets to prove this.
They're a waste of time and money and yes the factory setup IS a CAI and IS more than sufficient for the engine. The stock panel filter is also far superior in keeping the bad stuff out of the engine.
Most people dyno the 300 HP N*'s at around 218 - 222 HP With no other changes other than the Volant I dynoed my car at 235. Again that's very high in the RPM range where most people never see.
Tinkering with sensor calibrations and things of that sort are the last things I would do. The throttle response that you say you feel is placebo effect. Trust me it's not there. If anything the throttle is less responsive.
