Re: A/C problem

Open the door on the glove box and take the screws out and pull the box out
and you can see the actuator and if it is moving or not.
I think 3 screws( maybe just 2) hold the control and actuator in place
so it won't be hard to take it off and see if it will operate
when not connected to the temp control door.

Re: A/C problem

ok..took glove box out and ran the car and ran the temperature buttons up and down between 60 and 90 degrees and did not see the blend door arm move at all. Heard the compressor kick in and off and the blower kick in and off while pressing the warmer and cooler buttons through the range.

Quick way to test the actuator if i remove it out of the car?

Re: A/C problem

Remove the threaded rod from the programmer and verify the blend door itself is not stuck. Move the rod back and forth, sometimes when its snapped onto the rod, its too far one way or the other and will cause the blend door to stick. If the white plastic rod retainer on the programmer moves smoothly with the rod disconnected from 60 to 90 degrees then the arm was misadjusted. If it still does not move the stepper motor within the programmer is toast.

Re: A/C problem

I unsnapped the arm (metal threaded rod) and found the blend door to move freely with no problems. I forgot to check if the arm itself moves freely throughout temp. range while disconnected from the door. I did however find a little blue wire disconnected from the box (which i assume is the control motor) for the arm. Maybe thats the problem? Just trying to see how i can get the motor box out to reattach wire (cant do so in dash) and see if thats the problem. Will update or wait for any help if anyone knows?. Thanks again!

Re: A/C problem

The programmer comes out simply by removing 3, I think, small screws, then its wiggled around to come out from below. Thats assuming the lower dash cover is removed. Before trying to remove it, verify the arm moves with rod off.
