98 A/C not cold enough, HEAT not hot enough

Hey fellas, this is not so much a problem, but a concern or a question even. When my A/C is set onto HIGH on AUTO not ECON and is set to 60F it blows hard, but not cold enough. Thing is, coolant temp is @ 196F and its WARM outside, not hot!

Heat: Whenever its cold, and I'm driving around with coolant temp anywhere from 195F - 225F heat is pretty much warm not hot.

My Chevy Impala gets cold A/C almost instantly, heat takes a bit but blows out sooo hot! So, why is my baby not like this?

Re: 98 A/C not cold enough, HEAT not hot enough

You might have 2 seperate problems. Check to see if your A/C clutch is ferquently cycling(you will here it click on and off or you can just look at it and see). You also could get your pressures checked by a shop and they could advise you of your issues. Your heat seems possibly like a sticking blend door or possibly a cracked housing. Sound strange, but this could be the cause of the warm a/c as well. You might want to see if the a/c gets colder as you drive too. Just a few ideas on what may be issues.

I will check the A/C clutch tomorrow, hence its really late now, but as far as your question on does the A/C blow colder when driving? YES it does...is that bad? And today, when driving out to a restaurant with my girlfriend, with the A/C on, there was a loud noise sounded like a vacuum under the dash under the the long plastic thing where the DRL is installed. And after that, my A/C wouldnt blow as hard anymore or as cold....matter of fact, my A/C doesnt even blow really cold air, when set on 60F it feels like maybe 72F that blows out. Whats going on here?
