Very true. At the min, I could mix 50% E85/50% gas with larger injectors and still do very well. For under $400 I can get me a set of 60# injectors that would let me support a host of good SC mods....OR E85.... and maybe some of both....
The LTC is a thought, but I can't tune it so no E85. And no fun tuning!
But $ for $ that is a pretty good deal.... Quote:

I put 87 octane in a DTS rental and it did not like it. There was knocking at WOT and the power decreased dramatically. I am guessing it could be tuned for 87 or E85?
I know there is a certain amount of brand loyalty but sadly the Town Car, Grand Marquis, and Crown Vic are all that is left to fill the void after the demise of the B & D bodies. | |

It has sunroof, and I have always wanted sunroof! My wife wants red, but they aren't too common at all... She wants me to get a Red Deville, in the red that they did on the 96 STS..... Oh do I wish I could!
I have seen a few Ultra's, but not too many... |

What did you think of that PAU and how did it stand up against the LT-1 Brougham and the 4.9L deVille you had? |

LT1, brute force, down the quarter, it is king... Gonna take a lot to topple that without a bunch of mods. $ for $, the LT1 is awesome.
4.9L, still have better low end torque than the L67. My best was 29.7 mpg on it on the gauge, 28ish calc'd.... I would think the L67 and the 4.9L in a drag race, the 4.9L 0-60 will win, quarter mile maybe not, the 4.9L doesn't have the upper end power....
3800 SC, smooth as butter, far smoother than the LT1 and the 4.9L. And 27-28 mpg for much of the way home, overall nearly 26 and a nice chunk of it city driving and construction traffic. And a couple WOT blasts by the wife.... She is saying I have to keep my Cad, the new car is hers.... NOT!
Well, we did buy the one we found. L67 SC engine, moonroof and HUD.... I am a happy camper.... |

The LT-1 would annihiliate a 4.9L in a drag race. Brian's '94 FWB with the regular 2.93:1 rear end and 176k on it got a 15.33. I think Rick's '93 CDV ran a 15.9 once, but mainly he got low 16's with it.
I bet with your V4P, you would break into the 14's. |

I would bet an exhaust and a tune and factory 3.42's would run mid to high 14's all day long. Intake isn't all that bad, but the exhaust is awful.... Quote:
