Hood Latch Cable & Digital Dash Q

First question: The plastic clip that holds my hood latch cable to the latch broke off. The plastic piece is part of the cable itself (near as I can tell - I was able to force one off at a junk yard with MUCH effort). I can't find the cable anywhere. Is there a source?

Second: Anyone have info or advice on making a secondary hood latch cable, outside the car, for emergencies?

Third: Will the digital dash from an 86 deville work in place of my analog 85 Fleetwood?
