Well, got back to checking out the running problem with the my 1992 Deville. After checking the charts I got to chart A-2. ("service now" and "service soon" light are on with no codes showing, car starts and runs rough with lots of carbon I.E. unburned fuel). It says:
Notes on fault tree:
3) Both the "service soon" and the "service now" lights will be on with no codes set if a short to voltage is present on the crank signal input to the ECM (circuit # 806)
The problem is, after looking thru the whole manual, there is no circuit #806.
Bother! Help!
4) (This must be if and when you can ever find circuit #806) If all of the wiring circuits are O.K., then the PROM and ECM must be investigated for operating in hard backup. See chart C-1 "ECM Replacement Check".
The mysterious circuit #806 has got me baffled. Anyways...let me know! Thanks fellas....
