I am going to be replacing the front calipers, pads, and rotors on my 98 Deville. I was wondering if there is any bigger or better stuff that I can put on from a newer/higher performace car. I have the single piston calipers up front, and would like to upgrade if I am changing them anyways.
Thanks, Glen |

The OEM equipment on your DeVille is all you need. Do a bit of searching around on this and the suspension forum and you'll find most questions answered. I'm not aware of component upgrades that go beyond the choice of rotors and pads. MHO is to avoid slotted rotors and consider ceramic pads. Do search around a bit. K_C |

I'm not going to go drilled rotors, but I was more looking for 2 piston calipers, or larger diameter OEM parts. Ceramic pads are a must though. If there isn't anything its no big deal, I just always beleive in upgrading brakes when possible or convienient |

Larger diameter OEM parts run into interference with wheels. Look in the Seville and Suspension forums for posts on conversion to Lucerne calipers. |

I was not happy with my standard brakes either and made the switch, the advertising hype is for once pretty close to reality.
I used the HAWK HPS pads as they are supposed to have more grip than the ceramics. The only other thing you have to watch out for is use extra lube on the caliper bolts or the pads will shimmy. |
