Hi Ghostface, the pic looks much better than the first post sounded lol. Did you try to track down where they are rubbing? Most of my vehicles rub a little because I always run the fattest tires I can fit. Sometimes I will trim a little offending material if it isn't noticeable. My old Seville rubs on the smooth part of the wheelwell on very sharp turns but it really doesn't hurt the tires. Whenever I have to make a tight U-turn I can anticipate the rub so I guess I have learned to live with it. Your tires don't look overly large so if they are only rubbing on tight turns it might not be hurting them. A new set of struts will probably help a lot too. Your car looks pretty sharp though. Let us know what you decide to do. |

| | If it won't run, chrome it..... If the tires you put on do not closely match the originals in overall diameter, tread width, and section width you'll have rubbing problems no matter what you do. Also, with a different outside diameter your speedometer, mileage, and computer functions will be off by the difference in tire rolling distance per mile (A bigger tire means less revolutions per mile: slow speedometer and weird mileage calculation. Smaller = faster speedo, same problem.)
It's not as easy as slapping wheels and tires on. There's more in the formula than chrome and rubber. If you think you have problems now, wait 'till you put people and/or luggage in the car........ |

The rears rub and the fronts don't? that's a little odd. It sounds like the level ride system isn't working. From the looks of your car I wouldn't think the rear struts are rotted out. If you can't get the compressor working you could get an air line kit for them and adjust them manually. If you search around this site there may be several posts to troubleshoot the system. It is pretty much the same on all the Caddy's and Buicks too. I'm not a big fan of non-stock wheels and tires on Caddys but I do like the looks of yours. I hope you get it sorted out but I wouldn't change them. Peace. |
