Glasspack on a Concours

Remove this ad
I was thinking about getting the glasspack Cherry Bombs for my 95 Concours.
Does this sound like a good idea?
Would this be way too loud?

Any help is much appreciated.

Re: Glasspack on a Concours

Pretty sure they would sound obnoxious, but then again, I think glasspacks sound obnoxious on any car. It really comes down to personal preference.

Re: Glasspack on a Concours

Glasspacks sound OK on a dedicated 1960's non-emissions dual exhaust system; they sound horrible on a single-to-Y such as yours. STS2003 is an exhaust tech........and there are a few others in here.......listen to them.

What kind of exhaust would you recommend?

Re: Glasspack on a Concours

I remember lots of chevy pickups in the old days with single exhaust and a glasspack and they sounded pretty good. I prefer glasspacks to dronemasters anyway but they are illegal in my state. I also don't like glasspacks with a louvred core, they have a raspy sick sound to me. I like the smooth core with just holes in it. I am building a 76 Camaro in a couple months and plan to try some Dynomax Ultraflows. They are a straight through design and I'm hopeing they sound like a glasspack. I know there are probably more expensive mufflers out there that may sound better and louder but the old glasspack is hard to beat for $25 and they last forever. That's probably why they are illegal in Maine; they are the only mufflers that don't rust out.
