Console, The Search Ends ........and now continues again

On a lead from CadillacSTS2003 (THANK YOU ) I finally scored a console from Biloxi Auto Recycling. $120 incl shipping and he is going to include the column shroud and wiring harness. Will also try to include the shift cable if it has not been cut already.

Congratulations, Ranger, on your find! I know how frustrating and difficult it is to score those consoles, especially those with column shrouds and wiring harnesses..and the whole shift cable deal would just be the icing on the cake.

I am going to try to replace my air filter myself this weekend..if it warms up sufficiently. I read up on it in my owners manual and it doesn't look like it would be hard to do. Right???

Except I am confused, because I went to the parts store and just went by their guide book on what air filter to get....didn't notice until later that the box says "for trucks and SUV's". I was certain that I grabbed the right box..but maybe not?

I figured as much, but I also assume you realized that I don't care.

The air filter is a piece of cake. Just remember to unplug the IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor before you open the filter housing and plug it back in when done.

Ranger, just thought of something.

Try to be sure they send the console forward carpet extensions. They are about $100 each. They are harder to find then the consoles.

I was lucky, Turbojimmy sent me a set from his DTS parts car.

In the picture, you can barely see the outline of the panel, kind of under the glove box door.

Mine didnt come with the front carpet pieces, and they ARE 100.00 bucks each! Anyways, I have DEconverted my Deville back to original, thinkin about getting an Eldo....
