87 Coupe DeVille Window off track

I have a 1987 Coupe DeVille. The driver side power window seems to be off the track. I tried to get the door panel off, but it was fastened at or near the arm rest. What holds the arm rest on, and how can I remove the panel? I have the door panel removal tool. I can get all of the door panel push pins out, but I can't get the door panel off because the arm rest is secured to the door.

    Thanks.

If your 87 is like my 89 Coupe, you will have to pull up the electric control panel off the arm rest to access the screws that are holding the door on. There's about three screws in there I think.

If I remember correctly, you will need to take a flat head screwdriver and press it behind the rear side of the power window control panel in order to undo the clip that holds the panel inside the armrest. If you are going to be removing the panel completly, you might have to disconnect a few wires as well.
Hope this helps out a little. My window got off track as well recently. There were two plastic clips that broke off both sides of my window that are used to keep the window in the track. Once those broke on mine, the window soon after jumped off track. If these clips did break you can get them for less than ten bucks a piece at the dealer.

Thumbs up Re: 87 Coupe DeVille Window off track

I agree with acree25. had this problem recently with my '88 Coupe deVille. Had to replace the little white plastic receptacle that slides along the track; cost me about $12 at a dealer. The job turned out to be so easy, I regret putting it off for months (cold weather; I lived in Minnesota until moving to AZ this January).

Good luck; you should have no problem.
