I checked some of the wiring diagrams. 2001 STS seems the same as 2001 DTS.

The STS cluster I just looked at on eBay looks exactly like my spare DTS one.

The 30% of electrical I checked looked ok. The eBay cluster looked like it had the same mold lines etc. Appeared to be the same cluster..


That being said, when we bought our first DTS cluster, it was a crap shoot. No idea if it would work or not. Ended up working perfectly.

Again, that being said. I know some clusters have the needle sweep at start up..some dont. ? whatup with that?

It's a gamble.

Hell, I got a spare DTS cluster I may be willing to sell you. Denso reman..really..think it has either 29k or 32k on it. $100 + shipping.

nice cluster!! its plug in play right..i have a 00 deville base model will it work?? or is the 01 different plugs or wiring from the 00 deville i been wanting to swap one of these clusters in i hate the digital cluster i have now...from what im seeing i only have to modify the trim piece on the outside to make it work correct

My 2001 Deville had the original electronic green cluster.

So the first DTS one I put worked fine. I plugged this one into test and it worked fine.

I always thought my father in law's 01 DTS cluster and my 01 Seville SLS cluster were the same.

By the way, the 98-03 Seville SLS and Seville STS clusters were the same. All had the cluster that look like the above photo.

i saw an analog cluster in another mid 90's sts looks like its the same size an shape as the digital cluster in my 95 deville, will the analog cluster work as a swap?

Hi sorry I am new to all this posting messages, i have 02 Deville base need to swap digital cluster to another digital cluster cus mine got some dead pixels, so the question is can i buy the cluster from ebay US will it still be in kms and miles (my car has switch i can change between mi/kms) and i can buy from 05 Deville cluster with 45k mi on it. (mine has 70k kms) local dealer is asking $1400 to replace with new one. Please let me know if i can do that THANKS.

The eBay cluster should work fine. English and Metric will be the same.

The eBay cluster will show the 45K and not 70K.

The dealer cannot program the mileage. You would have to walk the cluster into a Delco radio/speedometer repair shop to have the correct mileage updated.

Canadian clusters are slightly different the US versions. The warning lights are a little different. I'll try to find a picture.

Update: In the service manual. It shows the US and Canadian digital cluster as being the same.

As for the analog cluster, it shows 'US version shown, Canada similar.'

Thanks, Will it covert between mi and kms by pressing the button on the dash? like my original one dose? cus mine has 70000 kms shown on the cluster and ebay cluster has 72000 kms, if I dont want to change the kms to original will it work? Thanks for your time i really presheated.

hello ive been wanting to swap my digital cluster for the analog cluster for quite some time. i have the analog cluster already. dealer is charging me too much can anyone tell me the steps i have to do to do this?? such as what parts do i need to remove would i have to take both clusters to the ac delco shop to get the right mileage programmed ? please help it seems like a very hard task to perform

If mileage is a issue, then yes, you will have to walk to IPC into a Delco radio/ speedometer repair shop to reprogram the mileage. Thankfully, the dealer or a GM Tech 2 cannot reprogram the mileage in the IPC. If they could, we would all be driving low mileage trade ins.

The DTS IPC is plug and play.

You will have to remove the A pillar trim panels.

Then, the top of the dash has to come off to get access to the IPC. To do this you remove each vent, there is a hidden screw above each vent. There is also 3-4 screws under the defroster grille.

You will have to cut the IPC bezel for the DTS heads down display. There are markings on the top / inside of the bezel.

You do have to mess with some of the wood trim fasteners screws.
