95 Deville Heat Problems

Remove this ad
My Cadillac Takes so long to heat up on the inside, the engine heats up within 4 miles of my house but the inside still isn't warm by the end of my half hour drive to school. My dad suggested a cabin air filter but I don't think it has one. I turn it up to 90 degrees and the fan all the way up, no luck. This is a real bummer with these Michigan winters and no garage. Help? Thanks, Brad

Re: 95 Deville Heat Problems

i had the same issue, first look to see if u have any vacuum leaks, all the mixers and air system doors are controlled by vacuum, in order to warm my interior up is to set the system to defog

Re: 95 Deville Heat Problems

Thanks, I will check that out. I already caught your defog trick because there isn't a way to get the heat to come out the vents on the dash, is there?

Re: 95 Deville Heat Problems

no its designed to only come out of the dash and at the floor, AC blows out of the vents, remember its a very large car to warm the interior of too, but usually it gets comfortable in mine within 15 minutes of starting, before i fixed the vacuum leak it would take about 30-45 minutes to get comfortable in, i also have a bad driver side temp mixer or whatever u call it, so cold blows on my side when i use anything except defog, does your cruise control work by chance?

Re: 95 Deville Heat Problems

No cabin filter on your car.
No way to get heat from the dash vents on your car.
Flush the heater core.

Re: 95 Deville Heat Problems

Yes my Cruise works great. I was kinda hoping I had a cabin filter seemed like it would be an easy fix. I will check out my vacuum tomorrow and the little doors, it could be the vacuum because if I have read right the parking brake release works off vacuum and that doesn't work (my step mom drove a few miles with it on, fried those brake pads). Thanks for the help, Brad

Re: 95 Deville Heat Problems

yea the e-brake releases with a vacuum solenoid, if tit doesnt release u probably have a vacuum leak somewhere, use carb cleaner, spray it around yer vacuum lines, with the motor running and see if u get a reponse from the motor

Re: 95 Deville Heat Problems

If you have a vacuum leak, the system will default to the defrost mode.

Re: 95 Deville Heat Problems

That is unusual. Maybe the leak was not bad enough to default.
