Analog dash guage "test sweep"?

On my old STS, the analog guage cluster would "sweep" all guages to the end of the range at starting, and then return them to normal operating positions a second later...sort of a self-test thing. My newer Deville DHS doesn't do that. Was this a feature that was discontinued, or is it turned on/off somehow?

It was discontinued in 2000 or 2001.

not true
someone in the STS boards has an 02 that does it
my 03 doesnt and my moms 98 doesnt
there are also 99-01s that dont do it either
its a random and rare thing
no one knows why a car does it and another one doesnt
been discussed many times before though

Hmm, My daughters '99 did it and my '02 didn't. That's why I said 2000-2001.
