Question 99 keyless entry option or standard

I got a used 99 and didnt get any remotes with it. Was this just an option or sandard? If it was standard i assume i can get remotes off of ebay to work. Can someone point me to the info on how to program them?

It should be standard and you need two transmitters, one marked #1 and one marked #2.

You should check with your local dealership, they can tell you what numbers need to be on the back of the key fob, or else it won't work for your car. I received one from an ebay auction before knowing this. The number on this one read;GM16186066, CANADA:218101375 Model/FCC ID:AB01602T. I have since found the correct numbers, and bought that one, and it is on it's was to me. Remember, you will still need to take it to a dealership to get it programmed (cost is around $50.00) The RKE (remote keyless entry) is what I typed in at ebay to find a zillion listings. Good luck to you.

Here are the numbers you need for your 1999-

    #1 key- Gm/UTA 25656444
    FCC ID KOBUT1BT
    CANADA 1983 101 393

    #2 key- Gm/UTA 25656445
    FCC ID KOBUT1BT
    CANADA 1983 101 393

You can find them on Ebay far cheaper then the dealer's $75.00 or so. The dealer should be happy to program for you.
