Hey are you over by Zarzamora and Nogalitas? Your area looks very familiar to me....always lots of old Cadillacs too! My family owns the bus shop at the end of Carroll Ave, so that's why I ask.

No, I'm off of Fair ave in San Antonio, TX. But I'm originally from Corpus Christi, TX. Hopefully I will be driving my cadi to Corpus Christi for the holidays if I can figure out my pass key security.

No I found the problem. Turn out it was my ignition cylinder. The two wires going to the pass key harness. Well one of them where broken.

Since I'm looking at another '96 Deville, I finally dug out some pictures of my old one. Bought her in Spring 2004, sold spring 2005 for my '90 Brougham. Beautiful condition, great highway car. But she had a nervous breakdown at 100k, everything started going. Had to pass her on.

I thought this was the car that got trashed (excuse my pun) on the new Snickers commercial. Then, I realized this one doesn't have a full simcon top.

Here is my 1986 Fleetwood Brougham D'Elegance I've had it nearly 2 yrs now, roughly 145000 miles, southern California car it's whole life.
I bought this car on a whim, mainly because I loved the D'Elegance interior in cloth, and don't see them around much in decent shape like this one. The car belonged to an elderly friend of my family. It sat for a few years before I bought it. It was the husband's pride and joy, and after he passed, the wife couldn't bear to sell it for fear it wouldn't be cared for. I adopted it ( I call it Mrs. Silver) and although I've had it for sale for a few months I can't stand to part with it for the same reason. I have turned down a few folks wanting to buy her to "customize" .. and I use the term loosely. Actually what they intended was more like "bastardize" IMHO..
By the way, since the time these photos were taken, I have acquired new factory front floor mats with the correct Cadillac logo, and I've polished the front turning lights back to their original brilliance from the cloudy state shown here. In the coming months I will have the vinyl top replaced in the same color, and the pin stripe re-done in red. I am also constantly on the lookout for a set of the factory wire wheels , but refuse to pay 500.00 for them..
