Upon inspection, I found 2 broken hard plastic vacuum lines and the PCV hose wasn't connected in the inner/middle part of the intake. Looks like these could be the culprits.

Re: Few pics for you guys with Plenum issues

You can splice the plastic lines with the correct ID rubber vacuum tubing from the blister pack rack at a local parts store or you can just replace the entire preformed line/connectors with rubber tube. Not quite as cutesy but just as functional. Always handy to have a possibles bag of tubing and various inline, X and Y tubing connectors, too.

Re: Few pics for you guys with Plenum issues

That plenum is a dealer only item, but should cost around $35 +/-. Try calling Luke in parts at Lindsay Cadillac --------> over there.

Or www.gmotors.com or www.gmpartsdirect.com. GM Cadillac dealers that discount online.

akrtr..... Click on your username and update your profile with your car, year, mileage. It makes recommendations much easier than using a crystal ball......

Re: Few pics for you guys with Plenum issues

juz an update (for anyone new who runs into the issue)...

problem sovled. Picked up the plenum boot last night, installed it and everything else (took bout 20-30 minutes because the parts where already removed)
started the car up.... it struggled and went back to sputtering and spitting.... but that lasted for about 8-10 minutes. around that time i notice the engine was shaking and jumping no more, so i check the tale pipe for sputter....didnt even sound like the car was on.... got in....and it was idling nice and smooth.
check engine light was still on tho..

but just checked it a few minutes ago, NO check engine light.
got my smooth ride back

preciate the advice and thanks again to all

Re: Few pics for you guys with Plenum issues

I followed all the directions in the post and got the job done however my check engine light is still on and when I drive the car and go over 650 RPM the check engine light starts to flash, it do not do that while in park. The car runs rough and the it takes a long time to shift gears. Any help out there?

Re: Few pics for you guys with Plenum issues

A flashing SES light means severe misfire. You probably have a P0300 code.

Re: Few pics for you guys with Plenum issues

02 deville I have a misfire code in both P1359 - Ignition Coil Group 1 Control Circuit
P1360 - Ignition Coil Group 2 Control Circuit are the coils easy to repalce and where are they, I was brave enough to due the plenum so I will take a risk to save a fortune at the repair shop

Re: Few pics for you guys with Plenum issues

I almost gave up and took my car to a dealer however, I went and looked at all the PVC fittings again then I happend to look at the wiring harness for the front and rear banks. I noticed that the rear harness was cocked but it appeared to be on, the gray locking mechanism was engaged but I was able to push the harness in about 1/4" and it snapped into place correctly. I started up the car and it idled smoothly drove it around the block and man what a dirrence in pickup. I'm happy to say that my problem is solved thanks to all of the wonderful people on this forum. The moral of the post "check and recheck all your wiring harnesses as well as your PVC hoses.
